La "Côte d’Or" (Costa de Oro) es una zona
de Francia rica por su belleza natural y por los productos que brindan
sus tierras.
Es una suite en tres movimientos en la
que se utiliza el mismo tema como frase para la composición de todos
ellos. |

I.- DIJON
Una ciudad con una gran majestuosidad. En
este movimiento se presenta el tema principal que servirá como conductor de
toda la obra. De una forma solemne se describe la belleza de todos los
grandes monumentos de la ciudad.
II.- LA BOURGOGNE, l’art et le plaisir de
vivre
Una ruta donde los grandes campos de viñas
rodean esta zona de Francia, obteniendo así una gran producción de vinos.El
sonido de la flauta recorre, a modo de marcha ligera, los caminos que
envuelven las grandes viñas, donde miles de hectáreas de viñedos verdes
llegan a producir una sensación de "paz".
III.- CHALON DANS LA RUE
Una introducción expresiva describe el
transcurso del río Saône, que atraviesa toda la ciudad. Y comienza la
fiesta, el gran desfile del verano como si de un carnaval se tratara. Pitos,
bocinas, confeti, disfraces, jolgorio, bufones, carcajadas, todo un festín
donde la gente sale a la calle convirtiéndose en la principal protagonista.

La "Côte
d’Or", is an area in France which is rich both in natural brauty and in the
produce given by its land.
This
piece, so named, is a suite in three movements in which the same theme is
used as a phrase for the composition of all of them.

I.- DIJON
A city of great majesty. The main theme is
presented in this movement which will be used to lead the whole piece. The
beauty of all the great monuments of the city is described.
II.- LA BOURGOGNE, l’art et le plaisir de
vivre
L'art et le plaisir de vivre. A route along
which the great vineyards surround this area of France, where an abundant
production of varions wines is obtained. The flute sound travels, in a light
march mood, along the tracks which the vineyards surround, where thousands
of acres of green vineyards finally bring about a feeling of "peace".
III.- CHALON DANS LA RUE
An expressive introduction describes the
flowing of the river Saòne, which crosses the whole of the city. And the
festival starts, the great summer parade as if it were carnival time.
Whistles, horns, confetti, fancy dresses, merry making, clowns, laughter, a
true feast where people go into the streets to become the main centre of
attention.
